Newgrange Picture Block
Newgrange is a stone age monument in the Meath, Ireland. It was constructed over 5,000 years ago (about 3,200 B.C.) which makes it older than Stonehenge. It is a large circular mound with a stone passageway with chambers inside. Every year in Ireland people from all over the world hope to witness the winter solstice, as the sun rises the light travels up the passage and widens and brightens the chamber. It truly is amazing but only a few are lucky to witness this phenomenon. Newgrange is a magical place.
